Pedone and Daryll, a 4-year-old gelding by BHR Frenchies Socks
out of Debbys Royal Jet, by A Royal Jet, also earned Reserve Champion honors in the Open Futurity for an additional $2,976. Added to their open carryover earnings, the duo hauled $8,446 home from Broken Bow.
“I felt like he would place, but really didn’t expect him to win it,†said Pedone of Daryll’s performance. “He had the summer off and brought him back and made a couple of runs on him. He felt like he had matured quite a bit. It used to be if the ground was a little deep or something, he wouldn’t get gritty; he’d be a little timid. But,
he’s been getting really solid.â€
